The Swedish ESF Council

The Swedish ESF Council, a government agency under the Ministry of Employment, needed a modern and accessible website to clearly communicate how Sweden manages funding from the European Social Fund+ and other EU programs. The platform had to serve both as an information hub and as a practical guide for organizations applying for funding, while meeting strict requirements for security, accessibility, and personal data handling.

We developed esf.se in WordPress with a strong focus on structure, clarity, and compliance with government standards. Content was organized around program areas, calls for proposals, and project support, with step-by-step guidance covering the full lifecycle—from application to final reporting. We also implemented support for regional content, news, and governance-related material tied to social sustainability and horizontal principles. In parallel, we delivered an intranet based on Municipio, integrated with Microsoft Active Directory for secure authentication and efficient user management, and tailored to support internal collaboration, document management, and communication.

The result is a stable and scalable digital platform that makes it easier for municipalities, regions, companies, and non-profit organizations to navigate complex regulations and access the right funding. The website has become a central hub for EU funding information in Sweden, while internal efficiency has been strengthened through a modern intranet and a solution that meets high standards for security and compliance.
